Animal Care League (Oak Park, IL)
Founded in 1973, the Animal Care League has been helping homeless pets in the Oak Park Community for 40 years. Their mission is not only to protect, care for and find home for homeless pets, but they also assist low income families with spay/neuter and pet care, and recently added a mobile clinic as well that offers low cost vaccinations and microchips to area residents. In 2012, they found homes for 900 pets.
The High Hopes® for Pets Foundation grant will be used to purchase a replacement microchip scanner for the shelter that has grown quite old!
