Free Spirit Siberian Rescue (Harvard, IL)

Free Spirit Siberian Rescue finds Siberian Huskies and Husky mixes from kill shelters around the country and places them in caring homes. FSSR also keeps a sled dog team which, along with some adopted dogs, provides popular demonstrations at area parks and events. FSSR has placed over 1400 dogs in caring homes since 1999. Some of these dogs come to us with heartworm or other health problems and are nursed back to good health. Many people like the idea of huskies but are not prepared for a working dog’s energy, so our volunteers educate the public about these Northern breed dogs, find new homes and provide the funds required to keep the rescue running.
