Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control is the nonprofit organization that supports the Chicago Animal Care and Control shelter located at 2741 S. Western Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
Founded in August 2009, their mission is to help Chicago’s neediest animals by providing foster families and loving care to the city’s neediest animals who, through no fault of their own, make their way to the Chicago Animal Care and Control facility.
Through a family of 108 state-licensed foster homes, they nurse, hug, medicate, train and cherish these animals, giving them another chance at securing a forever home. In 2011 alone, 455 lives were saved, and nearly 1,000 since their mission began in 2009.

The Midwest Labrador Retriever Rescue is devoted to finding homes for unwanted or abandoned Labrador Retrievers. Established in 1999, their mission is to save the lives of hundreds of dogs while at the same time promoting awareness of the homeless pet overpopulation situation.
Through a dedicated volunteer group, all rescued Labs are placed in foster homes to give each dog the chance to learn how to live in a loving home prior to adoption. Each dog is given the necessary Veterinary care and training as necessary prior to being adopted.
