Lulu’s Locker is a volunteer-based companion animal rescue group dedicated to rehoming the most overlooked companion animals: FIV positive cats and black dog and cats in the Chicagoland area. They aim to lower the euthanasia rate by educating the public about these most overlooked animals who typically wait much longer to be adopted. Lulu’s Locker can only rescue if they have Foster Parents, so please contact them at www.LulusLockerRescue.org if you’d like to volunteer. Lulu’s also has a “Wish List” program where interested supporters can hold drives for in-kind donations like food, supplies and toys.
Colorado Canine Rescue was founded in 2008 and takes in needy dogs of any breed when their time is running out at shelters. CCR operates solely through volunteers and foster homes in the Denver, CO area. Once a dog is placed in a foster home, CCR provides all the medical and behavioral care needed to be healthy and happy in its forever home. For adoption or volunteer information, visit them at www.coloradocaninerescue.org.
Founded in May 2010, Secondhand Snoots Rescue has rescued almost 150 animals and adopted 96 of them to wonderful families. One-third of those saved were seniors or animals with special needs, major injuries or illnesses. Please click on the following video to see a wonderful sample of these needy animals who now have a second chance thanks to Secondhand Snoots. http://www.photoshow.com/watch/Bj5Mi3jX

Our House of Hope K-9 Rescue focuses on older dogs and dogs who have medically complex conditions that can make them more expensive to care for and find permanent homes. While awaiting adoption in licensed foster homes, Our House of Hope K-9’s foster families provide the proper socialization, housebreaking, obedience skills and emotional stability. Imperative to their goals is the inclusion of children in the community, and they seek to provide education on responsible pet ownership. For more information, please visit them at www.ourhouseofhoperescue.net.
